ACT Work Ready Communities (WRC) empowers states, regions and counties with data, process and tools that drive economic growth. Participants are leveraging the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC™) to measure and close the skills gap – and building common frameworks that link, align and match their workforce development efforts. ACT is leading this national effort offering two paths to engage in ACT Work Ready Communities: state and county level applications. Through the application process, counties and states are accepted into the Academy to build and launch their Certified Work Ready Communities initiative.
An application for becoming a certified Work Ready County has been submitted thanks to the assistance of Boonslick Regional Planning Commission. This project is a collaborative effort involving the Chamber, all Lincoln County School Districts, Lincoln County Economic Development, the City of Troy, Lincoln County Commission, Cannon Companies, Division of Workforce Development, NEMO Workforce Investment Board and St. Charles Community College. For more information on how you can participate as an employer, contact the Chamber or visit www.ded.mo.gov/getcertified.
