World Bird Sanctuary ~ Raptor Awareness
September 23 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Cuivre River State Park is proud to host the World Bird Sanctuary’s Raptor Awareness program featuring birds of prey such as falcons, hawks, owls, and vultures. Not only will you see different species of raptors, but you’ll also learn a vulture’s secret weapon and how to identify a bird of prey in the wild. Sit back and enjoy an up-close view as some of the birds soar right over your head! Please do not bring your pets to the program, as they can frighten the birds and World Bird Sanctuary staff will not be able to let the birds fly.
This program will take place at Camp Sherwood in the large field. Camp Sherwood is located within Cuivre River State Park; follow the “special event” directional signs when you enter the park. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on (visitors must be seated during the show). As always, this program is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, contact the park office at (636) 528-7247.
