Cuivre River State Park in Troy will be conducting Saturday night summer nature programs and will kick-off the schedule May 12 at 6 p.m. The program will be presented by the World Bird Sanctuary and will be a raptor awareness program. It will be held at the Lake Lincoln Beach, so bring lawn chairs and towels. This will be a one-hour program on birds of prey. Live hawks, falcons and owls will make an appearance. Surface Work on MO 47 in Troy to begin, weather permitting, Monday evening, May 14. MoDOT and its contractor, Mid River Asphalt Inc. of Moscow Mills, will begin work to resurface the last mile of bare concrete pavement on MO 47 in Troy. The pavement and shoulders on this section, from Main Street to just west of Route H and J intersections, will be repaired and overlaid with asphalt.
On Monday evening, full depth pavement repair operation will begin at approximately 8pm. Once pavement repairs have been completed crews will conduct resurfacing operations, also during nighttime work hours (8pm-5am) to avoid impacting heavier daytime traffic.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane with 35 mph speed limit through the work zone with flaggers controlling traffic. Construction equipment will be entering and existing the work zone; delays should be expected. Motorist may encounter rough and uneven pavement at times during construction. Flashing arrow boards and orange warning signs will alert motorist approaching the work zone. All lanes of the highway will be reopened to traffic at the end of each workday. The resurfacing is expected to be completed by the middle of June.
All roadwork is posted on the travel information map. Those traveling and the commuting public are encouraged to check the online map at www.modot.org daily for new work zones. The coaching staff at Troy Buchanan High said the emphasis of the camp is to prepare for summer tournaments and leagues by working on offensive and defensive schemes.
